Paul Cohen:
If we look back, it's probably the most important aspect the human
capital that has been developed in individuals as they have begun to build up
their skills base as well as the social or organizational capital.
The fact that, as a small group of people who have begun to build a social
capital and begin to benefit from the value that we bring together as a group of
people, where the whole is bigger than the sum of the part.
It does take a lot of time to build trust and it does grow, if we cultivate
it, like a tree. If we water the tree, it grows. And I think some of these human
values, like trust, are linked to that type of a system, and therefore might be
different to how we do things in the conventional system, in mainstream, where often
there isn't the time to invest in the growth of systems on a biological timescale.
