We're looking at energy efficiency. Can we create as much self-heating and self-cooling as possible? A lot of that is achieved because of the location of the house facing north – also, the usage of a modern technique of using earth construction.

This is an Australian technology, a modern application of earth building using mud bricks, which produces a large thermal mass which can absorb the heat coming in, in the winter time, and also enough insulation during the summertime to keep the heat out of the building.
