As I saw the threats, I started proposing that a park be developed in the area. And, well, I can see now, looking back, that it must have seemed pretty absurd because, certainly then, young people – well, kids – were not taken seriously at all, and you know, here was this kid who was little bizarre anyway, proposing a national park. So mostly I got laughed out of every place I went to, attempting to have this thing done.
