Innovation - idea: education for social developmaent is a combination of computer traning programme and HIV/AIDS prevention for student in public schools in lagos state with the aim to empower poor student with I.T and prevention skill for social and personal developmentwww.yarnng.org

Innovation - why it is pioneering: it is pioneering because it is the first of it,s kind that uses innovative strategies and a combination of education and empowerment in I.T and HIV/AIDS prevention for poor student in public schools

Strategy - how it achieves impact: the model uses I.T as a point of attraction to encorage and motivate the participant who,s training programme is integrated with HIV/AIDS prevention programme thus using their I.T skill after every training as a point for mobilization of thier peers for HIV/AIDS outreaches and peer education training and the formation of yarn health clubs to ensure smaller change initiaties in the various school

Strategy - growth plans: with the formation of yarn health clubs in the various school and a huge volunteer base,a lot of youths have been encourage to set up change project in their respective communities thus enhancing dissemination and replication

Impact to date: my project has inspired a lot of change process not just in my community but at the national level as many other youth have set up various youth led initatives and the youths of nigeria now playing a major role in addressing the HIV/AIDS epedemics which affect mostly the youth population

Future impact: ten years from now,the youths of nigeria would have taking a centre stage in the I.T sector and the crusade against our greatest killer(HIV/AIDS)in addition to finding a solution to its continued spread

Sustainability - resource base: we have a huge support base from the youths who,s mandate we uphold and our commuinties,we also have strategic partnership with the lagos state AIDS control agancy,unfpa ,advocates for youths who have supported our activites

Major challenge for the field: one of the major challenge is the lack of support for youth led initiative and the view by adult partners of youths as problem rather than force for positive change
