Dear Wenchi,

Below are our answers to your questions. 1. Lithuanian government only announces information to our citizens about free employment positions abroad, what language is needed, what are the most needed professions in other countries. But there is no NATIONAL strategy on this topic. And so the Government is rather passive in this sphere. 2. Actually this written Project is a pilot one in Lithuania and so there is no practice in this field. No NGOs implement Project and plan strategy for the employment of victims of trafficking and potential victims of trafficking. In the frame of this Project we will provide recommendations to the government about the means for the increasing employment of victims of trafficking and potential victims of trafficking in the country. Not long ago we conducted NATIONAL sociological poll about the attitudes of our society (journalists, employers and other members of the society) towards victims of trafficking. It showed that our society is rather negative or indifferent about the problems of victims of trafficking. So we need to search for proper mechanisms to motivate employers to hire victims of trafficking. 3. Surely, there is a need of cooperation with the authorities due to this question as it is difficult to make changes at the national level only with nongovernmental efforts. So we plan to organize seminars, international conferences, and round table with state officials in order to influence their attitudes towards employment strategy in Lithuania. Moreover, recommendations about improvement of employment of victims of trafficking would be sent out to them. 4. We plan to include job offers in Lithuania mostly. We will check if job in a foreign country is legal and safe and only after that we will announce work positions at our virtual job data base. After implementation of this pilot model we would be able to give recommendations to other countries for using it too.

Respectfully, Ona Gustiene
