Breaking Human Trafficking Practice with Building Indo-Nepal Relation

Innovation: Thousands of women and children from Nepal are generally trafficked to India and forced to vulnerable works.In the contemporary open market policy, trafficking has been organized as crime and the crime against humanity. BASE has its strategy or operational model to stop human trafficking that civil society organizations should be unified and sensitized against trafficking through campaigns against trafficking voiced for amendment in view of human rights perspective, mobilization of youth clubs in villages, coordination with civil societies, survivors, alliances, parliamentarians, concerned government officials, conduct awareness raising activities through postering, pumphleting, banners, audio, video, interactio

Impact: Violence against women, domestic violence, gender discrimination on education, poverty and other sectors has compelled women and children to escape from home and thus they fall prey of brokers. The vague policy of the government, lack of proper legal monitoring bodies, lack of awareness no lesser than 5-7 thousands of people have been victimized per year. Our activities mentioned above will play a vital role for stopping human trafficking. People of villages as well Mahaton (the leader of the village) will be sensitized through awareness raising activities by youth clubs, women groups and these activities will discourage traffickers to enter in villages. The above mentioned activities will reduce human trafficking.

Tipping Point: BASE has developed its network (village committees, area committees, district committees, central committees, youth clubs and women groups) to reach root cause of trafficking. BASE has been involving to enhance its network to unify against trafficking to save people from the third largest and fastest growing criminal industry in the world. This network will conduct above mentioned activities actively which will fruitful to reduce human trafficking. For implementing these activities, we will need resources and skilled individuals.

Replication: In the new global world wider order, human trafficking is directly related to the disintegration of the rural communities and extreme insecurity of livelihood. Central level network coordinates with concerned government bodies, raise voices in trafficking for amendment in view of human rights perspective for policy making level. Mobilizations of network members system provide resources have proven to be very cost effective which is recognized as a model system for effective implementation of any programs.

Sustainability: BASE works in networking system in its working areas. It is easy and effective way to reach in villages to raise awareness to every people of villages and can be discouraged traffickers for trapping innocent people of villages. For this, it is necessary to strength the whole network of BASE. Trafficking should be viewed from boarder perspective and strategies aimed at preventing trafficking. This network will conduct mobilization of youth clubs in villages, coordination with civil society organization, survivors, alliances, parliamentarians, concerned government officials, conduct awareness raising activities through postering, pumphleting, banners, audio, video, interaction with border security forces, drivers, local governances, local
