Popular Community Participation through Network-Club Activity

3) Strategy Summary:
STEP I: This involves the carryingout a base line community survey aimed at identifying thealternative resources, other pressing needs of the community people that required solutions.

STEP II:- This will involve the launching of a popular-community-participatory forum aimed at mobilizing and sensitizing the target audience on a specific packged thematic focus with regards to Club formation and Membership inclusions.

STEP III:-This will involve the formation of a coordinating Centre aimed at facilitating the proposed activities of the club, while serving as resources base for it. What makes the strategy original is that it hasn't been adopted by any, or co-social development workers in solving community-related problems around here

4) How the Strategy Works:
STEP I:BASE-LINE SURVEY/RESEARCH; to be carried-out will be joint interactory/participatory activity between the LISI organization and the target community people.we will aim at identifying needs and all alternative resources/tools (human materials) already existing within the community and integrate same as development club members, who would form the constitution/policy drafting committee of the club.STEP

II:- ORGANIZING OF AN INTERACTIVE FORUM; the forum will be organized in collaboration and support of other NGOs and will serve as an effective avenue for moblizing,sensitizing and convincing the target community on the on the real purpose and essence of the project; it will provide for one-one interaction with various community heads, progressives,women/youth representatives and other opinionists seen as active community changemakers.The forum opportunity will serve as capacity building/learning activity for the community members.In this way, the frame work for replicating the strategy by the community members and NGOs would have been laid.

STEP III:-FORMATION OF A RESOURCE-BASE/COORDINATING CENTER;Using the support of other NGOs, the club will be formed in all the communities of the regional states of Nigeria and each state is expected to have a coordinating centre to be located in the city-capital and to be managed by the existing-selected NGO in the particular state .The centre will seerve as a development-information collation and dissemination liaison;will also serve as a mobilization, events organization, empowerment and community out-reaching centre to both development partners and the community peolple in general-through these ways, the club will be empowered to sustain itself;the Centre will facilitate the activities of the club and serves as its resources base.

STEP IV: ADVOCACY The formulated policies formed with the community support will be carried to both state, regional, national and international po0licy makers for amendment and inclusions.

5) Key Strategy Elements:

i. Mobilizing Citizen Support:
Some of the mobilized citizen will serve as members to the club and would have contrbuted varrying ideas that make the strategy innovative. The organized public forum and other events will make ways for an inclussive participation and equally a learning/capacity-building ground.The Advocacy campaign to policy makers and development stakeholders for inclussion of the club's views into public policies would have made the strategy popular, innovative and adoptable on a wider scale.

ii. Generating Financial and Nonfinancial Resources:
The possible links supports and capacity-building to be facilitated for the club will make it an innovative strategy to be learned and adopted by others.

iii. Establishing Relationships with Strategic Partnerships:
The embracing of the strategy by corporate, media, goovernment, etc will make the strategy popular and an development tool adoptable by strategic partners.

iv. Engaging and Managing Volunteers:
The LISI organization would tend to become popular by espansion of it club formation activities, this expansion will require due voluneers participation, who would have liked to benefit from a popular innovative strategy. Several professionals have been consulted for advice to ensure this program fully adheres to all rules governing the functioning of NGOs. This includes multiple lawyers and Chartered Accountants who have acted on a probono basis and continue to offer their services for further questions.

v. Developing Information and Spreading the Message:
The types of information developed include the community/human-resources development-appreciated information which are sourced from both the internet and corporate, media and government.

6) Increasing Self-sufficiency and Social Impact:
Volunteers bring in new ideas and strength to the organization and have participated in publicizing our good work; Information has helped the organization by exposing us to opportunities created by both development/strategic partners, policy-makers, ageencies, media, internet, etc

To Harness and Facilitate Potential Human Activities Towards Rapid and Sustainable Development

Looking Forward to the Next Three Years:
anticipate a state,regional, national and internationally acclaimed citizen base strategy over the next three years.
