3) Strategy Summary:
LOVEPLAY has been honored with an invitation for an
April/May 2005 production in New York at off-Broadway?s
LaMama Theatre where Off-Broadway originated. My play
dramatizes just love: how private love can transform to
public justice inspiring the hero in us all to inspire
others to a just life.
4) How the Strategy Works:
Our strategy is to present the play off Broadway in April-
May. Our second strategy is to reach the widest possible
audience with LOVEPLAY through publication so that it can
be replicated anywhere and be understood by anyone, even
if they speak only Chinese (that is the LaMama
philosophy). To complete our task we plan to take the
LOVEPLAY to film and video/DVD to distribute it world-
wide.
5) Key Strategy Elements:
i. Mobilizing Citizen Support:
Work team: We have had to assemble the top production team
of an award winning director, an internationally acclaimed
composer and are producing it at the theatre that began
off- Broadway.
ii. Generating Financial and Nonfinancial Resources:
Strategies for fundraising. We have identified over 250
granting sources and are applying for over 20. We hope to
reach people on the Web with our Want to be an Angel? call
for funding: in any amount it is a tax deductible
contribution which I will send through NYFA our 501 (c)(3)
sponsoring organization.
iii. Establishing Relationships with Strategic Partnerships:
PARTNERSHIPS: We have received $50,000 in kind donatIons
from LaMama and have to match it with $50,000 for the
production costs. We hope to partner with student
organizations such as All Starz which will provide student
interns and bring us funding from those who fund young
people and education.
iv. Engaging and Managing Volunteers:
Managing volunteers: We are reaching out to theatre
schools in New York for volunteers, for actors and stage
hands who can help keep costs to a minimum so that if we
only raise $15,000 we will still be able to go forward
with our complete plan.
v. Developing Information and Spreading the Message:
We are sending out posters, postcards and will contact,
call and meet with media people we know (such as Mel
Gussow, theatre critic for the New York Times) and are key
to the success of any New Production.
6) Increasing Self-sufficiency and Social Impact:
In addition to assembling a top production team, to
continue implementing strategies for fund-raising,
developing new partnerships, managing volunteers and
publicity we plan to become self-sufficient, without the
need of the NYFA 501(c) (3), and become a commercial
enterprise. We have already a year ago filed a DBA, doing
business as Prentice Enterprises, Ink! Our task will then
be to move into the private sector for funding which we
plan to make money for our investors. But our time spent
as a non-profit will give us the expertise to become a for-
profit organization who's mission remains: all my work,
here in LOVEPLAY and elsewhere is to reach and move the
widest possible audience in order to awaken consciousness
that inspires courage to act with just love - a love that
is just.
8) Organization Mission and Vision:
My mission in all my work, here in LOVEPLAY and elsewhere
is to reach and move the widest possible audience in order
to awaken consciousness that inspires courage to act with
just love - a love that is just.
Looking Forward to the Next Three Years:
We plan to move from a not for profit to a profit making
enterprise that will make money for investors while
inspiring others to at act with just love, a love that is
just.
