changemakers

Zahabia Godrawala, now a college student in Mumbai (Jai Hind College, Arts student), looks back on his experience in MelJol:

"I was in Class VII (eighth grade) at St Anne's school when I participated in MelJol's Twinning Program, and it completely changed my outlook on life. I became aware of all these other kids – really came to understand their lives, the challenges they faced.

"I've also become increasingly interested in social programs and have done short stints at various projects. Right now, I am a regular volunteer at Seva Niketan, a rehabilitation center for mentally challenged patients.

"I get enormous satisfaction from being able to reach out to others. And I know that the MelJol experience was a major factor in pushing me in this direction. It taught me to look outside of myself, to empathize with the different situations of others."
